In this Act we will explore the many contexts that surround a work of art and determine its meaning. Historical context tells us about the time and place an artwork was made. Cultural context tells us about The process of creating an artwork, how an artwork is exhibited, and the space it occupies provide additional contexts. Together, these conditions provide us with a basis for interpreting an artwork's meaning to ourselves and others.
