IVA is an introduction to the principles of analyzing, understanding and making art. An investigation of the relevance of art that includes its history, themes and vocabulary is complemented by hands-on experimentation with a variety of art techniques in order to develop a greater awareness of the importance of art in society. Studio projects, class discussion, slide lectures, reading and writing, and critique comprise the basis of the course.

The course is divided into three Acts, each Act will last two weeks, or four course meetings. Each course meeting has its own page accessible from the menu at top right, with all the material and assignments for that day on it.

You can download Webex Teams onto your Mac or PC via this link, or you can download it into your iOS or Android devices by searching “Webex Teams” in their app stores. When you log into Webex Teams for the first time, be sure to use your @my.ccri.edu email!
Some students find it convenient to use the Webex Teams app on their phones, while accessing lectures and other course materials on a computer.
